I was asked to design and install a new stone face for this old existing adobe fireplace.
A new metal flue was inserted through the existing chimney that was originally built with unlined adobe.
Three types of strip sandstone were used to achieve the desired color range.
The small alcove to the left is a functional wood fired cooking area that is incorporated with the fireplace, something rarely seen today.
